You don't get a second chance to make a first impression so use your resume and cover letter to present a professional image. Run off copies of your resume on quality bond paper in conservative colors such as white, off-white, beige, or cream. Avoid mottled, marbled, grained, or patterned paper that detracts from the text. Use the identical paper for your cover letters. Mail your resumes and letters in 9 x 12-inch envelopes so they arrived crisp and unfolded.
